Planning a home visit

A social worker needs a clear way to keep colleagues informed before going into the field. We practise what to share with a colleague, how to respond when others arrive and when to end a visit. Participants consider the environment and their options without placing all responsibility on one employee.

Difficult conversations at a service centre

Tension can grow around a refusal, an expected decision or a disagreement over support. Scenarios cover clear communication, setting a boundary, bringing in a colleague and changing how the meeting proceeds. We consider bystanders and the employee’s actual role and procedures.

From de-escalation to leaving

When conversation does not calm the situation, the ability to end contact and call for support matters. If appropriate for the group, movement exercises focus on regaining distance and finding an exit. The aim is neither to win a confrontation nor to replace institutional procedures.

A shared response across the team

After each scenario, we discuss what was noticed and what needs to be reported. We train social services teams and related institutions in Szczecin and across West Pomerania. Anonymous examples are enough to prepare the programme. Tell us the team’s duties, group size and common difficult situations.
