A women’s self-defence workshop for your Szczecin team

A workplace workshop might follow conversations about late shifts or solo travel, or simply reflect employees’ interest. A clear reason for organising it helps the instructor choose situations that the group will recognise.

Ask about situations people recognise

A short survey can ask what employees would like to practise. Offer examples such as persistent questioning, someone standing too close or asking a bystander for help. There is no need to collect accounts of personal incidents. Share recurring themes with the instructor to shape the session while respecting privacy.

Choose the room and explain the format

For an office session, check how much space remains for pairs once furniture has been moved. The invitation should mention the practical format, clothing and beginner level. Participants should know that questions are welcome and that they can tell the instructor when an exercise feels uncomfortable.

Making participants comfortable

The company invitation should explain that the workshop includes movement and partner exercises. Participation should be a genuine choice, with a named contact for questions before the event. Nobody should be expected to describe experiences of violence publicly. Describe specific skills rather than promising to remove fear completely.
Discuss photography separately from attendance. Joining a workshop does not automatically mean someone wants to appear in company publicity. The organiser can agree with the instructor how photographs will be taken and how participants can stay outside the frame. Afterwards, a short voluntary survey can help assess whether the session addressed the team’s needs and what further learning would be useful.

What should the enquiry include?

Include the city, approximate group size, venue and the main purpose. Mention any need for several sessions across shifts. For an international team, agree on the delivery language. These details help the organiser return a practical proposal that HR can use to arrange dates and logistics internally.
